Dr. Earl Carter drops scathing rebuttal to Bishop Blake’s apology video

Prescript: I still love the COGIC, but its at the crossroads and unless the helm is wrested from the closet inclusionists and hirelings, it will crash into the same brick wall all the other pro-inclusion denominations have. Dr. Carter’s unedited response published in full below.

To the Beloved Saints of the Church of God in Christ:

earlcarterpreachThis communiqué comes as an informative document. Included is my response to the apology video released by presiding Bishop Charles E. Blake Sr. Further, addressing the state of the church and finally, my duty as a gospel preacher. As you all know, I was the key note speaker for Saturday night during the 107th Holy Convocation of the Church of God in Christ. 147 souls were saved and set free! The glory cloud came into the sanctuary. Thousands remained after the sermon for hours as Bishop Brandon Porter stayed and prayed on the altar with them until they were delivered. On Monday while waiting to board my plane I called Bishop Blake to tell him that I enjoyed his message on Sunday and to thank him personally for the opportunity to preach on Saturday night. His response was, “I heard that the Lord really moved on Saturday night and the saints are going home blessed!” I thanked him again and said goodbye.

After arriving back home my phone began to ring off the hook; expressing that the Saturday night service had gone viral. By Tuesday evening I realized exactly what had transpired with the testimony of Andrew Coldwell. I had a missed call from Bishop Blake and I returned his call. Finally, we talked as he was getting off the plane in L.A. he stated that he would call me back in about 40 minutes. He indeed called me back in about 30 minutes. He stated that we had a ‘situation’ and I interjected with, “what can I do to help the situation and make it more palatable or acceptable? I’m willing to write a statement because I don’t want you to lose any sleep and placate your emotions because I love you and I love the church; whatever I can do to help”. Then Bishop said, “Thank you man for your spirit! Listen, don’t write anything yet-I’ll have my “PR” people to call you and help you with your statement to be sure we are all on the same page and so we don’t open anything up any further”. He thanked me for my kind spirit again and hung up. I never heard from Bishop Blake or his “PR” people. The next thing I hear is his YouTube webcast throwing me under the bus!

When Bishop Blake apologized on a national stage for the strong words of the “Prophet” he literally rejected the word of God!

Further, perpetuating and advocating the in- your- face actions of weakness and fleshly dominance! Now that he has done this un-godly thing, the invitation for those who practice such, has been re-instated; they are coming back with a vengeance and reprobate spirit to further invade the church even more. The first chapter of Romans says, “I will give you over to your vile affection;” which means morally despicable, physicblakeapologyally repulsive and foul. Homosexuality is an abomination!
And you mean to tell me that our Presiding Bishop finds the message and language offensive, repulsive, disrespectful, violent, unloving and un-civilized? Well, I found bringing my son to a so called Holy Convocation and being inundated by sissies, homosexuals, gays, down-lows or whatever you choose to call them – offensive! These folk are standing in the way of sinners and sitting in the seat of the scornful. Also, a mother from North Carolina wrote me and said that her 7 year old saw so much from the homosexuals during some of those after hour services: crazy colored hair and hair styles, long stiletto nails, eyelashes and makeup and ridiculously tight pants with purses (so called pouches) till the mother had to explain to her that it was not Gods way and that their behavior was sinful and that God is against them. Can you imagine coming to the Holy Convocation and having to explain how the effeminate men or homosexuals get to serve, sing, shout and dance without any correction? Listen, Ungodly men have crept in unaware and have turned the grace of God into lasciviousness – which is nothing less than a license to sin.
Jesus said, “I didn’t come for peace but I came with a sword – I came for war”. The reason the real saints of God are so outdone and upset with the apology is because they understood the message that I preached. It sounds like Bishop Nimrod whose pasturing a Babylonian church with a Wal-Mart marketing system, which cuts the price to keep the folk coming. Because of the state of the church, the Babylonian church (compromise) pastured by Bishop Nimrod, the church today in modern America tends to be easy, upbeat, convenient and compatible with the world. It does not require self sacrifice, discipline, humility; a zeal for souls and a fear as well as love of God. There is little guilt and no punishment and the payoff in heaven is virtually certain. What we now have might best be labeled “consumer” Christianity. The cost is low and customer satisfaction seems guaranteed (remember the candy man makes the world tastes good). If we were only customers of Almighty God we could be selective in our faith and reject anything we didn’t like. But that is not the idea we get from Jesus. He (Jesus) pointed us to a cross and not to a spiritual checkout counter. He said if anyone desire to come after me let him first deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it (Luke 9:23-24). Christ died on the cross for our sins and not for our satisfaction. He calls us to trust in him and then follow him with a life of self denial. In a world where the customer is always right it takes radical obedience to God to keep from buying into “consumer” Christianity.
THE STATE OF THE CHURCH
Read Isaiah 30 “Speak lies to us…” The Homosexual Agenda is Iconoclastic
Destroying the image of an icon and the veneration (reverence) of a religious movement or organization is the definition of iconoclasm. Don’t misunderstand me: the church is a hospital; anyone sick ought to be able to come. But please stay in your bed with your thermometer in your mouth and don’t take an unauthorized white jacket and go around taking other peoples temperature. That is to say: stay out of the choir, stay away from praise and worship, stay out of the youth departments and for heaven sake stay out of the pulpit, and please don’t even think about serving communion to the Lords people. There has been too many victims of sexual abuse in our church. The Church of God in Christ has been inundated with all types of sexual misconduct; from molesting boys and turning out young girls. The wicked struts when the vilest of men are promoted! The homosexual agenda is exactly what is happening – it is now working just fine in our church. They have slowly but surely changed our tolerance and now forcing our acceptance of their lifestyle; Thus, attempting to shut down the un-cut gospel. God forbid. The whole priesthood of the Church of God in Christ can be fired! For the lips of a priest should keep knowledge, and the people shall seek the law from his mouth for he is the messenger of the Lord of host. But you have departed from the way. You have caused many to stumble from the way. You have corrupted the covenant of Levi says the Lord of host. Therefore, I have also made you contemptible and base before all the people for you have not kept my ways, but have shown partiality in the law (see Malachi 2:7-9). What you tolerate you perpetuate. Babylon means compromise; when you have hot and cold coming together it causes lukewarm-ness which creates an environment for germs to fester. God hates lukewarm! Listen, when the church creates an environment for wickedness such as whoremongers, pedophiles and homosexuals (including lesbians) that is a Babylonian church.

These homosexuals have invaded our convocation to the point where people do not even reverence or respect us anymore. They not only crept in but someone boldly invited them to come in and rule, reign, serve and participate in our holy services. Our church is now a “Lesbian Friendly” “Gay Friendly” “Bi-Sexual Friendly” “Trans-Gender Friendly” (LGBT) in other words “Homosexual Friendly” church! What do I look like going into a Gay Bar and forcing them to change their environment and behaviors to suit my heterosexual beliefs and lifestyle? My message was not to the world really; BUT an indigenous message to the homosexuals that are a part of or member of our church. They are claiming salvation and hold leadership roles, serve in our choirs and praise and worship – my message was inclusive of these. I loved them enough to tell them the truth. If I were headed over a cliff (hell) I would rather someone tackle me and even bruise me to keep me from falling to my death (hell). In Hosea 4:6-9 my people are destroyed for the lack of knowledge because you have rejected knowledge I will also reject you from being priest of my people. God fires not only by death-but you can be fired and still on the job. “The elder and honorable, he is the head; the prophet who teaches lies, he is the tale. For the leaders of this people cause them to err, and those who are led by them are destroyed (Isaiah 9:15-16)”.

Finally, God was so bad in the Old Testament until Jesus has to come in the New Testament to give him a better reputation. God is sick of this lukewarm recidivistic church! Men with Identity theft issues are stealing the characteristics of women and destroying the Identity of our once great church. But trust and believe me, God being my help and strength I will not stop preaching the un-cut gospel. Just as the writing of a martyr from Rwanda was forced to either renounce Christ or face certain death. He refused to renounce Christ and he was killed on the spot. However, the night before he had written the following commitment which was found in his room:
“I’m part of a fellowship of the unashamed, the die has been cast, I have stepped over the line, the decision has been made-I’m a disciple of Jesus Christ. I won’t look back, let up, slow down, back away or be still. My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, my future is secure. I’m finished and done with low living, sight walking, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tamed vision, worldly talking, cheap living & dwarfed goals.

My face is set, my gait is fast, my goal is heaven, my road is narrow, my way is rough, my companions are few, my guide is reliable, my mission is clear. I won’t give up, shut up, let up until I have stayed up, stored up, prayed up for the cause of Jesus Christ. I must go till He comes, give till I drop, preach till everyone knows, work till He stops me & when He comes for His own, He will have no trouble recognizing me because my banner will have been clear.”

For the Un-Cut Gospel – NO APOLOGY NECESSARY!
In HIS Service,
Rev. Dr. Earl W. Carter Sr.,

Dr. Carter you are truly a man of God that has a real heart for the souls and lives of the men and women of God. It breaks my heart to see how much the church has changed through the years because I grew up in COGIC when it was Right to Live Right! We could not live any kind of way and still be active participants in God’s house. God help your people in this hour because we need you like never before. It is one thing for the world to accept sin but the church must maintain a Standard of Holiness other wise where will people go to be delivered. I am sorry for the unfortunate situation that has occurred with Bishop Blake but I pray God will continue to strengthen you as you stand and hold up the blood stained banner

  2. December 2, 2014 at 10:08 pm

Thank you! Thank you! thank you for having the boldness to preach the true gospel.
It was rough but it was needed. I feel that Saturday was the best night of the Holy Convocation. I stayed to the end and as we were walking down the hallway people were praising God. Oh the glory of the Lord. Keep preaching and don’t take down it was needed.
Satan always tries to cause confusion in the mist of God having his way.
I believe that God was pleased and that is who we have to answer to.

  3. December 2, 2014 at 11:22 pm

Dr. Carter’s words were repulsive, “I hope God gives you the monthly of a girl, I hope He has you bleeding out of your butt.” What kind of preacher uses such hateful language. God says He would that they were SAVED, not bleeding from their rectums. Also, what legitimate preacher boasts of having a doctorate from a non accredited school? Jacksonville Theological Seminary is a known diploma mill and pay for paper “seminary.” How can you take someone who was too lazy to do the real work to EARN a doctorate? How much is that degree in the window?

    • December 3, 2014 at 12:12 am

David Hutchins, lets keep this debate intellectually honest. A degree or the lack of a degree is irrelevant to one’s speaking the truth. Bishop Mason had no degree so that should end that matter. If Carter’s educational credentials were questionable blame the Presiding Bishop for approving him without proper vetting. So please refrain from the cheap shots. If you have substantial rebuttal to the man’s text let it be known.

Secondly what you call “repulsive” caused (in the official estimation of COGIC) 147 people to get saved. So is this your own bias speaking or are you repudiating the salvation of these people as well?

  4. December 3, 2014 at 12:38 am

Dr. Carter thank you for your message. I, too, am a son of the COGIC, and yet would NEVER send my sons to any of the convocation because of the blatant homosexual presence. Thank you for your boldness and fearless preaching of the word of God.

What did God do to Sodom and Gomorrah?? those wicked men were not confessing salvation or in the church, they were wicked burning with lust for other men! They were doing what sinners do SIN!! A abomination!!! What do you think is going to happen to men and women in this lifestyle, confessing salvation, in the church?? and the saints that see it and condoning it and not speaking the truth about it. God destroyed the WHOLE CITY WITH FIRE!! leaving nothing!! God even promised not to destroy the city, but there were not even 10 SOUL’S that were righteous!! that speaks volumes!!! We as believers Saved, Sanctified and Holy Ghost filled FOR REAL cannot compromise with SIN PERIOD!! If God can’t save us from SIN Saints of God what has he saved us from!! The bottom line here is SIN is SIN I don’t care who its in it will take you too HELL!! this should not even be a matter of discussion!! No wonder God Spirit has left the church, MAN IS IN CONTROL AND NOT GOD!! Thank you Dr. Earl Carter for exposing SIN, and speaking the truth, thats what we are suppose to do!! They hated and talked about Jesus too, and we are subject to being talked about, persecuted and sometimes martyred!! But God is your source!! This is only the beginning, Jesus is SOON TO COME and we all must be ready!! I have been in Church of God in Christ 52 years!! What God gave to Dad/Bishop Charles Harrison Mason was the True Church of God in Christ………The COGIC is a copy cat of the True Church of God in Christ.

  6. December 3, 2014 at 12:21 pm

The message delivered by the Prophet accomplished its intent. The method of delivery and phrases used would not be any of ours to use. The time had come and now the world is reeling because the Church is witnessing true deliverance from unruly demonic spirits. It appears that Dr. Carter was willing to revisit the choice of phrases without tampering with the message but was not afforded that opportunity. Now, it is what it is. May the Church of God in Christ, my birth church preach the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the TRUTH. May we follow peace with all men and holiness without which no man shall see the Lord!!!

  7. December 3, 2014 at 3:18 pm

I stand with Elder Carter. The message was needed. Thank God for his boldness.

  8. December 4, 2014 at 2:32 am

Its about time the clergy of Cogic CALLS -OUT the clergy of Cogic. COGIC clergy is the same as the catholic priests. I know “several” COGIC pumps who is still down low. Its a shame their wives are still “clueless” to this especially with ALL their “first lady” anointing! Apologize my butt, Elder Carter is just calling the clergy out in front of the entire world, and he is not afraid of losing tithes and offerings. Matter of fact Elder Carter may get a huge donation for that sermon!

  9. December 4, 2014 at 6:05 am

I WHOLEHEARTILY STAND WITH SUPT.EARL CARTER….THAT SPIRIT IS BOLD AND HAS INTENTIONS OF RULING IN THE COGIC AND THE CHURCH AT LARGE PERIOD.
    THANK YOU SUPT.CARTER.

“Finally, God was so bad in the Old Testament until Jesus has to come in the New Testament to give him a better reputation.”

I was concerned with the statement above in Dr. Carter’s communiqué. I’m hoping it’s just a matter of semantics. Nonetheless, I am pressed to convey that the Most High God of the Old Testament is NOT and has NEVER been BAD by any stretch of the imagination, and most importantly by His Word. If He was so bad, He wouldn’t have been so incomprehensibly, gracious, loving and merciful to send His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to save our wretched souls from sin, namely the penalty of sin, an eternity in Hell apart from Him.
Isaiah 53 is just one Scripture that tells us just how NOT BAD He is.

    Isaiah 53
    Who hath believed our report?
and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?

For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground:
he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief:
and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken,
    smitten of God, and afflicted.

But he was wounded for our transgressions,
he was bruised for our iniquities:
    the chastisement of our peace was upon him;
and with his stripes we are healed.

    All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way;
and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation?
for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.

And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief:when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.

He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors

There are entirely too many Scriptures to share here about how wonderful (not bad) the Lord God is. But Isaiah 53 is Old Testament. Because Dr. Carter referenced the God of the Old Testament (who by the way, is still the same God yesterday, today, and forever) I thought it was important to reference the Old Testament to prove just how good and wonderful the Lord God is. Isaiah 53 is also clearly speaking of Jesus Christ. Because Jesus didn’t just show up in the New Testament. He was with the Father from the beginning.

    Genesis 1: 26
And God said, Let US make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Who was walking in the burning fiery furnace with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego?
    Daniel 3:25
He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

Secondly, Jesus did NOT have to come in the New Testament to give God a better reputation. Jesus came to save us. Not to give God the Father a “better reputation.” He’s Almighty God and has never had anything less than a perfect reputation. Perfectly faithful, loving, merciful, and just. None of us can say that of ourselves.

    John 3:16-21
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

He that believeth on him is not condemned:but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God

    Ephesians 2:1-10
    And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

BUT GOD, who is RICH IN MERCY, for HIS GREAT LOVE wherewith he loved us,

Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

My grandparents raised my mother in COGIC. My grandmother served many decades as a COGIC missionary. My grandfather was ordained to minister and pastor in the Church of God in Christ and has since gone on to be with the Lord. His heart was already grieved for the state of COGIC before he passed for innumerable reasons. In many ways, I’m grateful he’s not here to witness what’s taking place now. I never thought I’d see the day that my grandmother would leave COGIC after more than 60 years. But she did. Because she chooses to follow Jesus Christ and the Word of God, no matter how many others forsake Him. I wasn’t saved until the fall of 2011. I’m also a very grateful survivor of sexual abuse. Abused at the hands of my Dad’s two brothers when I was child. One of whom was the pastor of a church.

Lastly, judgment starts with His house first.
    1 Peter 4:17-18
For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

Begin in my sanctuary is how He put it in Ezekiel 9. Because His people were rebellious. A rebellious house is how He put it. Sadly, the same rebellious house exists today. And His wrath and judgment against it has only just begun. May the Lord God have mercy on us all. To His remnant He has promised to faithfully bless, and protect. We should all examine ourselves whether be of the faith that is in Jesus Christ and Jesus alone. Playing church is over. God’s not winking anymore. Are you saved? Or churched? Eternity is at stake. An eternity with Jesus in Heaven or an eternity separated from Jesus in Hell. Both are real destinations.

Best Blessings in Christ to all.

Thank you Dr. Carter for letting the Lord use to tell the Gospel truth!

  12. December 27, 2014 at 3:01 pm

The Lord said in the last days there will be a great fall in the chunch and the very elite will be fooled…..God does not lie! It marvels me how people try to make wrong right and right wrong…one should hope that they will never have to experience the Most High say depart from me for I don’t know you…allowances;compromises that have been made in the name of Jesus is unreal and shameful….There is a high cost for anyone to falsely use someone’s name to endorse their agenda…..meaning how many times have people used God to put a stamp of validation on something that clearly he wasn’t apart of…..We must represent the Kingdom in spirit & in truth. His name is on the LINE!

  13. January 13, 2015 at 3:04 pm

Dr. Carter’s prophetic message was forceful and stern, but it was needed, because we have allowed sin to go unchecked, preaching a socially acceptable gospel. But the word of God has not changed. Jesus is the same “yesterday, today, and forever” God forgives sin, when there is genuine repentance. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” 1 John 1:9. We all have sinful desires at times, some stronger than others, but we don’t have to yield to them. Jesus entered into our struggle, and by doing so, gave us power to overcome the practice of sin, including the sin of homosexuality. It is not to say there will be no struggle, but by the power of the Spirit of God, we can live above the practice of sin. But when the gospel becomes compromised, so does it’s power. And when sin is flagrant and open, it violates everything that the gospel stands for, and that Jesus died for, and has to be dealt with forcefully, and sexual sins, including homosexuality in the church have become flagrant and open. We should be grateful to God that there are still men left like Dr. Carter, who have not “bowed the knee to Baal “, because unfortunately, many preachers, for the sake of popularity, have compromised the gospel and have descended to a state of lukewarmness. God said “But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!” Revelation 3:16. Dr. Carter rebuked the pastors, and rightly so, who have allowed sin in their churches to go unchecked. We should learn a lesson from ancient Israel. She allowed her sin to go unchecked, with the priests in cahoots with those who defiled the temple, until God had no choice but to send judgment. “Furthermore, all the leaders of the priests and the people became more and more unfaithful, following all the detestable practices of the nations and defiling the temple of the LORD, which he had consecrated in Jerusalem. The LORD, the God of their ancestors, sent word to them through his messengers again and again, because he had pity on his people and on his dwelling place .But they mocked God’s messengers, despised his words and scoffed at his prophets until the wrath of the LORD was aroused against his people and there was no remedy.” 2 Chronicles 36:14-16.

There is a high level of ignorance and intolerance here. God is love and never did Jesus use gutter language to rebuke anybody.

    Elder Michael N Galloway Sr.
Homosexuality is an abomination, it is a evil and satanic spirit that is a form of witchcraft. One who walks in this lifestyle will be given over to a reprobate mind. Dr. Carter you have stirred up the devils nest in Bishop’s gay affirming kingdom.

  16. January 17, 2016 at 11:20 pm

GREAT MESSAGE! POINT BLANK!~~~SOMEONE HAS TO SPEAK THE TRUTH, IT JUST TO MANY LEADER THAT WON’T DO WHAT ELDER CARTER DID, WE NEED MORE MESSENGER AS HIM.

  17. January 21, 2016 at 6:05 am

Thank you Dr.Carter I have for years now been hearing the Lord decry the state of our leadership and the demise of true holiness .Is it too late ? I pray the answer is no. Our grand old Church of God In Christ is in a horrible state!
