AL Bishop suspends adulterous superintendent

Report COGIC Abuse today received confirmation that the Bishop of Alabama 1st Jurisdiction has suspended a married superintendent who carried on a six year adulterous relationship from office pending further investigations.  Read our August 1st open letter to Bishop Meadows.
Bishop O. L. Meadows’ letter, dated August 5th stated in part, “Upon receiving of this letter you are suspended from the pulpit of your churches and the responsibility of District Superintendent until this matter comes before the Council of Pastors and Elders.”

RCA praises Bishop Meadows’ judicious handling of this situation in seeking to end the mockery of God’s people by those who do not walk worthy of their calling . The pastor, who supervised another church in a Mississippi jurisdiction had previously been forced to remove the name “Church of God in Christ” from his church name due to sexually immoral actions unrelated to the Alabama case.

In addition, RCA has learned that the pastor –whose name we are withholding at this time– held what was described as a “near violent”  members’ meeting over his impending removal from the church.

This just goes to show you that eventually you will be exposed. You were warned not only by others, but the word of God corrects . “He chastens the one he loves!!”

This meeting that was in the office with the deacons and the pastor. Well the pastor didn’t agree with the overwhelming vote of “we no longer want you”. That didn’t sit well with the pastor so he ran to the sanctuary told the minister to put all non members out and told one of the couple supporters to hold the door and don’t let anyone in that’s not a member. This is Sunday Morning Worship time. Then the trick begins, he tells the members that the deacons is the reason he is resigning. Non of the members were told about the letter the Bishop sent to him suspending him until further investigations took place. The Chairman of the deacons board has been ridiculed because this pastor is continuing to sow discord among the members. It was a sad day for the members and it shows that he(pastor) cares for no one but his self. These people are broken, and hurt but instead of helping the situation and leaving gracefully he starts taking equipment out the church( drums) . Not to mention he tried to raise an offering after the argument and members almost fighting ensued. He stood there and didn’t care about what was going on in the house of The Lord. Well the tensions carried over to Bible study on Tuesday night where these same ladies came blocking the doors of the church and threatening to slap another member, all in the defense and instruction of this pastor and his wife. This is a mockery before God. I’m no judge but I do know what the word says…. We all need to watch and pray because the enemy is busy!

It is about time that someone in COGIC leadership does something worthwhile. -MMorris

According to sources. There will be a meeting held tonight at 7:00pm at the held by Bishop Meadows to vote this Pastor back in office. He has been on a campaign all week calling and recruiting members who are against him. This is a shame before God and the body of Christ. According to close sources Bishop Meadows told the Deacons to continue to pay him because he is still the Pastor, and in full control. Well this is totally contradictory to what is being said publicly. How can our church leaders allow such immoral characters like this to even be voted in. Evidently he Pastor knows he will be back next Sunday because he told the Deacons and the Minister there to not let anyone join the church until next Sunday when he comes back. Well this sounds like meeting or not the Bishop has made his decision to let this man back into the pulpit. Shame on our leadership. When do we fight for right and despise wrong and son. We are setting a standard of anything goes in the COGIC. There’s only a remnant of leaders with integrity left. Bishop Meadows seems to have only slapped this young lady in the face with allowing such character from a man of God. What reproach we are bringing to the church. I guess it’s all about money and poor souls are dying going to he’ll under our watch. “Wake up saints because the aints are taking over.” Tell The Truth And Shame The Devil!!!

Bishop Meadows is not the type of Bishop or man to condone this type of behavior and is taking appropriate measures to make sure this pastor is investigated in the right way. I do know your sources are not right about one thing. Bishop Meadows is not voting that pastor back in office, and he did not tell them to keep paying him. That pastor resigned; therefore, he is not entitled to receive pay. Remember what you said about that pastor. What makes you think he is not the one sending out this misinformation? Bishop Meadows made it clear what his stance was on certain matters at the convocation Sunday. He is a man of his word.

  5. August 21, 2013 at 5:00 pm | #6

On last night at the meeting according to sources Bishop Meadows upheld the COGIC ordinance and did not reinstate this man nor did the church vote to receive him back. Bishop Meadows actually openly rebuked this man in front of the congregation and called him to the carpet on matters that he has been negligent in along with questioning the church’s financial state. I believe that when there is sin present it not only affects him personally but everyone and everything that is connected to him. Therefore the church has more problems than this sexual allegation. As Bishop Blake stated ” get right or get out”.

thank you for the update. Bishop Meadows is doing what a bishop should do in these situations. I say let him do his job.

@cogicology : The jury is still out on that. I say hault on the celebration before this meeting on Tuesday. The stage is being set for Bishop Meadows to make a clean escape from using any authority in this matter. He informed the church at the previous meeting that he has no jurisdiction over that church because the pastor had not asked the church to vote on putting them in to Alabama, he was running so fast from the wrath of Bishop T.T. Scott that he as always took it upon his self to make all the decisions. He was running from allegations of sexual misconduct with some teenage girls in Greenville MS. He deceived all these men who voted him back in and put their integrity on the line. The church members were told the reason they were leaving Bishop Scott jurisdiction was because they were trying to take his church because they Elder Frank Howard and Bishop Scott didn’t like him. So this church was blindsided at the time and agreed to leave the Mississippi jurisdiction because they have been trying to take his church for a long time. The members were asked are we in Mississippi and his response was “we are but we aren’t”. Sounds fishy to me. He also told the church that he was offered money from Bishop Scott for defaming his name but was told by his attorney to sue the COGIC. This was information straight from Huttons mouth. This man has defiled every relationship he ever had and the bad thing is he dont care because he is the victim. In his mind he thinks everyone is out to get him. Wow how ironic this is only true when HE gets his own self in trouble because he can’t keep his fruit-o- loons up. Bishop Scott tried to discipline him and he grabbed his church and ran. Now comes Bishop Meadows turn, we’ll Bishop seems like he’s playing the dirty dozen. It’s time to hand down justice for the people. Bishop made it clear in the last meeting that he was only there to address the issue of finance. Well if this man is preaching under the COGIC license shouldn’t he be able to have his license revoked. I don’t care who you are if you can’t control your sex drive and you feel the urge to bond with your members intimately you don’t need to be trusted with these folks souls. I’m no Einstein but something’s just make sense, what goes up must come down. The law of gravity never fails. Why do our church’s that we put our time talent and treasure into fail us? Why can’t our voice be heard? I will as the song goes Lift every voice and sing till earth and Heaven ring” I will continue to do my part and inform Gods people of the wolves that have reaped havoc and scatter the sheep.

    • September 6, 2013 at 1:41 pm | #9

Thank you for the update Hs. Our position is this: If the Supt remains officially part of COGIC with no disciplinary actions, we will publish all the material sent to us so that there will be no rumors or gossip about what he actually did. This will also serve notice to those who blindly follow him that they are targets of his sexual addictions. At that point, let the buyer beware. If he jumps the COGIC ship (like he and others have done before when they are cornered), we will publish his name and some information and call the case closed. The purpose is to ensure that if he attempts to reenter any denominational system with a modicum of integrity the record will be available for review.
If he repents, he should be put in a redemptive process which requires “meat for repentance” and restitution, then forgiven and restored should that be possible.

According to sources There will be a meeting on tomorrow in Amory MS at the American Legion Hall @ 7:00 pm. This is an informational meeting that will be open to the public. There will be information on the current allegations as well as the previous allegations of this pastor. This meeting is to let the people examine the proof for themselves. In addition there will be a meeting held at the church held by Bishop Meadows on Tuesday at 7:00 pm. Members only.

So they are showing the evidence at the meeting tomorrow?

  7. September 10, 2013 at 7:44 pm | #12

It would be a shame for whatever evidence someone has to be shown to anyone other than those who has authority to bring judgement against him…..this man is in trouble and don’t even know it….truth is COGIC is in trouble and don’t know it….. they’re having their big meetings and doing their holy dances while the church is dying…sort of like Nero playing the fiddle while Rome burned…

    • September 11, 2013 at 2:08 am | #13

It’s so sad that a person (especially a preacher) would portray to be a christian and minster the most sacred word of God. What happened to the fear that the Lord would “strike you down” for pretending in church. Sign of the times! The awful part is that he would have the nerve to run revivals across the US bringing souls to Jesus. I’m no judge by any means because there’s only one Judge. I just pray that this man gets right with God and get serious professional help.

  8. September 11, 2013 at 3:41 pm | #14

1 Corinthians 9:27 KJV 27″ But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.” I think it’s very clear that it’s possible without proper discipline…you can preach and bring others to Christ and still be lost……For gifts and callings are without repentance….Rom:11:29..he is doing what he was called to do and even though he need to take “several seats”, because of his undisciplined behavior….clearly no one is able to do anything with this man….the people in authority over this man is as sad as he is or worse,……

  9. September 11, 2013 at 9:42 pm | #15

I’m beginning to be ashamed of the organization. COGIC has strayed away from the values it once stood for. I’m a firm believer in forgiveness and not judging because we have sinned and come short of the Glory of God. Bishop Meadows came down to the meeting and basically ridiculed he people who has called him about this preachers indiscretions, he for some reason is mimicking this preacher thinking someone has an angle for themselves. He mentioned someone joining the church to vote the pastor out. Well why would this be an issue if the council do its job. No one can take another mans job unless he relinquish it, or if its taken because of his own sins. The problem with this whole circus act is the clowns don’t suppose to control the show. There is just too much deceit going on. It saddens me that the Bishop went on and on about forgiveness. If I’m correct there can be no forgiveness without repentance. This man has never went before the church and admitted his sins, NEVER!!!! don’t get me wrong but I think you owe the church something HINT: (apology), especially since the Bishop said the church owe him his salary. This church is divided. The Elder in charge asked before starting the meeting is there anyone present not COGIC? This lady who seems to be either sleeping with this preacher or being paid by him pointed out 2 preachers who are members. I dont understand how the Bishop dont see whats going on here. this situation is driving me to think that anything that you are big and bad enough to do ( if your wallet/ pocketbook) is big large enough you can get away with it. Just throw a few distractions out there like making the people (members) feel guilty for standing for what’s right. The church did successfully vote to go into Alabama jurisdiction, this process has to go before the council in Memphis TN which will take a while to be approved. One member asked the Bishop, “since the paperwork by Huttons attorney to make the Rosé of Sharon independant not properly done dont that make us still apart of COGIC? The Bishop didn’t have an answer. Bishop stated he dont know of anything that happened with this preacher in Mississippi well to me I would want to know why someone would be leaving another jurisdiction. Bishop said he and Bishop Scott are good friends so seems to me He would have this information. Seems to me his file would follow him especially these charges. C’mon people we don’t live under rocks Seems to me he would pick up the phone and ask some questions. Lets stop adding insult to injury the members are wounded, the sheep are hurting, they trusted this man and he has let them down. The sheep love this man but they know he needs to get some help. Bishop he is not going to listen to anyone, you know this yourself. What kind of therapy do the church receive? What kind of therapy do the victim receive? What can the church do to unify when the leader is sitting on the side lines pitting the ones not standing for his wrong against the ones standing with him? What can the church do when the members who stand for right is ridiculed and ostracized by the members who want the preacher to stay? There were about 70 people present at that meeting and only about 30 maybe 40 show up for services. This is not going to sustain this ministry if this preacher stays.

    • September 11, 2013 at 9:51 pm | #16

So what is going to be done? Will this man be allowed to keep preaching there?

    • September 17, 2013 at 4:20 am | #17

I totally agree with you. I grew up in COGIC during the time when there was a real love, fear and reverance for God. It really breaks my heart when excuses and self righteousness supersedes the sanctity of True Holiness. Yes we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God but are we suppose to continue in our sins and faults and use the church as a cloak? God forbid! Someone asked the question how can you be in a relationship for that long, well when you are young naturally and spiritually you are easily swayed and even flattered by one that you look up to and even gullible enough to think its ok but when you have a real heart towards God he will convict you. This pastor is human yes but when you have souls required in your hands you Must be held to a higher level of acountability. Preachers seem to be taking their call to lightly but it is a dangerous role to occupy if you yourself are not delivered. Let’s please pray for the hearts and minds of the people, his family and that he will humble himself under the mighty hands of God before it is to late. The mothers of old would be horrified if this kind of stuff was being upheld. They taught us there is no in between its Holiness or Hell point blank.

According to the Constitution of COGIC bylaws Rose of Sharon COGIC pastor did not follow proper protocol when he pulled the church out of the Mississippi Jurisdiction . The constitution clearly states; on page 15 Section D. Local Churches. No local church shall have full status in the COGIC until it has been registered by its Jurisdictional Bishop in the office of the General Secretary, who shall then issue to the Jurisdictional Bishop a certificate of membership for the local church. Bishop Meadows was posed the question in the meeting to vote for the Rose of Sharon to go into Alabama or stay independent “If our constitution states this and you just read it to us well how is it that we are not under Bishop Scott’s Jurisdiction being this transfer was never submitted to the General Assembly?”. Bishop Meadows did not have a response to the question other than he motion to his forehead, that you are a smart person. The Constitution further states ; Neither a local church, whose Jurisdictional Bishop has not received a Certificate Membership from the General Secretary of the Church, nor any member thereof, shall be entitled to enjoy the rights and privileges of memberships in the COGIC. A local church, which has been i accepted by COGIC and issued a Certificate of Membership, shall NOT have the LEGAL RIGHT or privileges to withdraw or severe it’s relations with the General Church, EXCEPT by and with permission of the General Assembly. This clearly says that this church is still under Bishop T.T. Scott’s jurisdiction. Bishop Meadows has no jurisdiction over this church . The allegations from Mississippi about this pastor and potential being pulled down because of the seriousness involving underage girls is what provoked this man into running for cover in another jurisdiction. He was found guilty and didn’t want to face discipline from Bishop Scott. I don’t understand how Bishop Meadows say he don’t know what happened in Bishop Scott’s jurisdiction and the charges that were against him. It’s time to expose the enemy the word of God says “He that covers his sin will not prosper”. This man needs some serious counseling and some humility to go along with it. The arrogance of this enemy is almost unbelievable. The church is divided because of this. There is no power there, everything is out of order. The pastor and his conniving wife is there keeping the members in constant battle against each other, this is a diversion to get the focus off them. This man cares for no one but his pitiful image he is trying to keep. Jeremiah 23:1 woe to the shepherds who scatter my sheep. The members want him GONE but are afraid to confront him and they are trying to keep peace. Anyone who try’s to do something about this man is talked about and ridiculed by the few empty wagons making all the noise. In conclusion The church thought the choice of Mississippi would be put on the table as a choice by bishop Meadows and it was not. I find this unfair and unjust, especially when you got the evil wife of this pastor in the parking lot pet ironing members to vote Alabama because Bishop Scott did her husband wrong. The blame game again this woman must sleep under rocks. Bishop Scott nor anyone that stands for right had nothing to do with the choices YOUR husband made. He decided to sleep with every Mary , sue and who-ever. He is the one in the video lapping away, he is the one on the recording begging to come over ,saying the truck is warm dont but on no clothes just a coat. He is the one that took pictures of his lil, Peter weater and sent it to this woman’s phone. He is the one that made sexual advances at these young girls. Obviously there is a mental sexual disjunction going on and this man don’t even need to have a dog license let alone a Elders license. It’s time for the real saints to stand up to the devil. He that live Godly will suffer persecution.

  11. September 20, 2013 at 5:05 pm | #19

P.S according to the constitution of the COGIC the vote to transfer jurisdictions shall be by secret written ballot. The respective Jurisdictional Bishops shall be authorized to have a representative present to observe the voting and the counting of the ballots. Well this was not done right according to the constitution the vote was by raise of hands. Bishop Meadows did not follow proper protocol therefore this vote is no good. Bishop Meadows did not give the members of this church a choice of Mississippi jurisdiction.Im no rocket scientist but I sure see some hidden agendas going on here. Seems to me Bishop Meadows wants the church for his self being he knows this pastor is not going to pass a background check to be licensed in the COGIC. This pastor don’t want to go to Mississippi because he knows judgement is there. It’s a shame for this pastor and his wife to try and make Bishop Scott out to be some bad evil person when it is them that has sinned. i don’t blame Bishop Scott I wont risk my integrity nor compromise the word of God for him and no one else. If Bishop Scott sat his own son down because of misconduct I know he is not being partial. This church belongs in Mississippi under Bishop Scott. Rose of Sharon has been in the Mississippi jurisdiction for over 60 years. I think if Bishop Meadows is honest and a person of integrity as he say he is he will not let this evil pastor con him into fighting for another mans rights. Just like the Supreme Court once a ruling is handed down from your local court they usually uphold the ruling and agree with the district court. Bishop Meadows I implore you to do what is right and don’t be fooled by these deceitful people. Bishop Meadows the people do forgive this pastor but no longer trust him. You told the church to forgive well sir with all due respect we do forgive however the bible tells us to be watchful of False Prophets. Matthew 7:15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheepskin clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits.” Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they?

If you are so unhappy, then why don’t you move your membership? I’m going to assume by your posts, that you attend this church. If you have issues with the pastor and his wife, then why don’t you move your membership? Anyone who attends, this mess of a church, has the option of not to attend. It’s not a place of God-ordained worship. Just move on.

      • September 23, 2013 at 10:30 pm | #21

I don’t think the point is about just being unhappy with a leader and his/her spouse, its the principal of the whole situation. Just moving on and closing ones eyes in something this strong is dangerous because it is not just affecting the ones that “just leave” but what about new souls that do not have a clue about what is really going on and somehow get caught up “God forbid” in the same sordid acts. For to long people have just walked away and said its not my business but if we are in the Body of Christ we should care more than about ourselves. I have known this pastor for some years and truthfully I am really sadden by this because as a young lady I respected he and his wife to the utmost and even in this situation I pray that they allow healing and restoration for themselves. We sometimes get so busy doing For God that we actually lose GOD, if this makes sense. God does not want us to get so caught up in the Show of Holiness and Preaching and being to busy that we forget about the REAL Message, we ALL need him everyday, every hour of the day and every minute of the day. Ones title or position does not exclude us from having to LIVE Holy.

        • September 24, 2013 at 12:57 am | #22

What you are saying makes complete sense, but heavensense sounds as they are personally involved in the situation..like they are the young woman. The entire situation is sad. It affects everyone, the pastor, his wife, the young woman, the congregation, and the child. It has rocked the entire community to the core, but instead of spreading the facts and laying the blame, prayers need to be said for some healing and deliverance. The details are already out in the open. I have been around the pastor and, it doesn’t take the smartest person in the world, tosee that he is fresh. I just pray that healing happens for everyone.

  12. September 24, 2013 at 10:45 pm | #24

@Beblessed ; I really don’t have the energy nor the time to explain my reason of concern in this matter other than the body of Christ. The Kingdom suffers violence but the violence take it by force. If you are a saint of God and you are sent into battle with the enemy do you run? Well I don’t think the church today need any coward soldiers that is one of the problems we face today. What impact have you made since you know the pastor and his wife so well? You stated he is fresh, well did you pray or maybe just talked amongst yourself and a group of people who didn’t accomplish anything? I will not sit down and let the enemy deceive the people. I will not run from the enemy. Everybody dont have the same strength as the next person. We bare each others infirmities. I’m concerned for the people of God, if everyone runs away like they have been doing then who will fight. The enemy wants us to get off focus of the real issue at hand. The enemy wants to find fault in the body that has already suffered. The enemy wants to turn this around and focus on me and you and we are not the issue. IT IS NOT ABOUT US!!!!!!! If anybody wants to sign up for this battle you will suffer persecution. My affiliation with this church whether directly or indirectly is no ones business however and wherever we are all children of God and the sheep of his pasture. I seen some of my sheep friends being eaten and slaughtered by the wolves I couldn’t dare stand on the sidelines and watch. I AM A SOLDIER IN THE ARMY OF THE LORD, !!!!!!

The enemy is getting scared, he is seeing his demise and defeat therefore his fiery darts are aiming at people he thinks will succeed him. It never cease to amaze me as to how low this devil will go to try and win against righteousness. He uses the word of God for his own personal use to justify his sins. I looked up the word oppression/ witchcraft and the signs that it exist in your church and it described this pastor and his wife as if they were pictured next to the word. One sign is Separation through Isolation, this is a solid weapon of witchcraft. It wants to separate you from others who speak the truth into your life. This spirit will do whatever it takes to control the environment around it. Another sign is having an uppity air of spiritual superiority about them. They think that they have it altogether and you don’t. They try to embarrass you . They will push you out on the proverbial limb and leave you for all to see. Soul Ties are used also this one is so dangerous because they hook your emotions and gain a soul tie with you. This is an abnormal soul tie you have to be able to discern the normal soul tie. When you have sexual relations with someone there is a soul tie (emotional bonding) that generates because two flesh are become one ( Genesis 2:24). Sexual relations in marriage generate a healthy soul tie, while sexual relations outside of marriage create unhealthy soul ties. You must be careful of the soul ties that are used solely for the purpose of manipulation, control, and selfish gain. In the world today there are many things outside the church to draw believers away from Christ. Mark 4: 19. Carnal pleasures and worldly lust abound, and many are the philosophies The progression of deceit and unbelief is so clearly taught in the Word of God, that to deny it would only reveal the depth of delusion already set in the minds of many. When Jesus was asked by His disciples, “what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” At the top of Jesus list He first answered them saying, “Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ: and shall deceive many ” (Matthew 24:4-5). And yet again And many false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders: insomuch that , if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect: ( Matthew 24:4). If deception is to be the pitfall that will characterize the church of the last days, how will those living therein be able to withstand the looming tide of deceit that is rising with every passing day? The sad thing about deception is the person being deceived rarely notice the wool being pulled over their eyes. John warned us in (1 John 4:1). Beloved believe not every spirit, but try the spirits, whether they are of God: because many false prophets have gone out into the world. Anything that agrees with the holy scripture should be accepted anything else should be rejected.
